The biggest turn out in Quality Gem Diamond Dash history!
The rain stopped, the clouds parted and the sun came out Saturday morning at 10am as all 262 participants in our Third Annual Diamond Dash started lining up at the Danbury City Center Green!
It was a sea of red shirts
on Main Street, as 131 teams dashed around for two hours, solving clues, riddles and puzzles – all via text message.
Exhausted dashers swarmed Two Steps Downtown Grille
around 1pm for our huge after party! A rocking buffet, drinks, and much needed water was provided, all courtesy of the wonderful staff at Two Steps! A “Day of Beauty” for two, a gift from Dawn’s Pizzazz, was given to the runner-up couple.
Then participants were asked to be silent
and turn their cell phone ringers on. We dialed the number of the winning team! Winners Corey Loke and Heather Mackey of Danbury were in shock when their phone started ringing! As Heather read the story she submitted when she registered to play, we learned this couple has been together three years, and have been friends for seven. Their romance started on Valentines Day of 2008 and wedding bells may be in the near future! Congratulations to Heather and Corey!
